Its time for my preseason predictions. Today we take our beloved Nascar drivers and link them together with a member of the Pump Room Fantasy League. Enjoy the season.

Dale Earnhardt / Em Apps: What can I say. Thanks for everything


2002 Predictions

1. Jeff Gordon / Joe Matzke: Either love them or hate them, but until November they are still the champs. Forever linked together in Pump Room history.

2. Tony Stewart / Dean Schrank: Second place is not all that bad

3. Bobby Labonte / Russ McElrone: No slow start this year. If Joe or Dean falter, It should be his to lose

4. Dale Jarrett / Jerry Laundrie: A solid top five pick unless he drives that truck

5. Kevin Harvick / Larry Stathas: He knows someone, who knows someone, who knows someone who met Kevin Harvick

6. Sterling Marlin / Kay Kellar: A lock for a top 10 finish. Is Kay's hair and that car really the same color?

7. Ricky Rudd / Dale O'Brien: If the Press-Gazette improves their Nascar coverage, he could move up

8. Dale Earnhardt Jr. / Layth Hussain: Who let someone from South Carolina in this league? First foreigner to crack the top 10

9. Jeff Burton / Kirby Vanden Burgt: Always near the front. You just don't notice he is there

10.Rusty Wallace / Chuck Burkel: Just not quite good enough to run with the big dogs

11. Ward Burton / Jim Hayes: If you ever saw them drive or heard them talk, you would swear they are twins.

12. Mark Martin / Cooter McElrone: Who says they are to old? They went to high school together somewhere down south

13.Johnny Benson / Pete Hansen: Will get more respect if they ever win a race

14. Bill Elliot / Vic Kane: The elder statesmen of their leagues

15. Matt Kenseth / Brian Patton: Time to get rid of that sophmore jinx

16. Jimmy Spenser / Neil Rechsteiner: They never forget. Unfortunately they don't know very much

17.Steve Park / Debbie Hussian: They both need a year off

18. Bobby Hamilton / Dianne Pirlot: Will contend at times. Both could use some new wheels

19. Jerry Nadeau / Jeremy Bisick: Way to much undeveloped potential

20. Jeremy Mayfield / Troy Langer: You never know what to expect, but it usually is not very good

21. Ken Schrader / Steve Perry: Steady. Way to steady

22. Elliot Sadler / John Ferek: They realy do look alike

23. Joe Nemechek / Dave Hall: The goal is to finish up front not just start there

24. Ricky Craven / Ricky Crabb: Its all in the name

25. Kenny Wallace / Dan McElrone: Just might finally have a good car

26. Terry Labonte / Denny Schutz: Not to long ago they were the best

27. Ryan Newman / Kerry Monfort: Newbie of the year

28. Michael Waltrip / Randy Norman: Did they really win a race last year?

29. Mike Skinner / Jim Zima: At one time they had all the potential in the world

30. Mike Wallace / Greg Matzke: Its tough when you are not the best in the family

31. Dave Blaney / Larry Kasten: Just when you think they have a chance, the tires fall off

32. Robby Gordon / Bryan Blom: How many more owners will give them a ride? Could be their last chance

33. John Andretti / Bill Maccoux: John needs a new ride. Bill needs a new job

34. Kurt Busch / Jeff Michaels: Are they really coming back for more?

35. Jimmy Johnson / Rick Schardrie: Flashes of brilliance. Wait till next year

36. Brett Bodine / Dale Livingston: Theres always a Bodine on his team

37. Casey Atwood / Greg McElrone: Needs to learn from the old man

38. Stacy Compton / Laurel Logan: With a little luck just might win a pole

39. Hut Stricklin / Ron Logan: New owner, same old results

40. Buckshot Jones / Tim Davey: Its crash and burn all over again

41. Rick Mast / Laurie Thuerwachter: Please do not listen to Tim Davey

42. Jeff Green / Dave Biebel: They need lots of luck just to make the top 40

43. Shawna Robinson / Sharon Zima: Would be ranked higher if not for Jim Zima

44. Kyle Petty / Dale Wilhelm: Every year they hope for the best. The hoping continues

45. Dave Marcus / Glenn Pirlot: Isn't retirement great!
